Before GTA III, before Midtown Madness, before Mafia — there was a PlayStation 1 game bold enough to drop an entire open city in front of you and simply say: drive. That game was Driver: You Are the Wheelman, released in 1999 by British studio Reflections Interactive (today Ubisoft Reflections). And for an entire generation of players, its cinematic intro is one of those memories that just sticks — up there with the sound of a PS1 disc loading or a favourite Saturday-morning cartoon jingle.
